About Me

I am academically trained as a researcher in art history and ethnology. Over the past 20 years, I lived in Costa Rica, the USA, Germany and my native country, the Netherlands. I specialized in folk art, aesthetics, and human-animal relations. Now, I am a jewellery designer, combining traditional goldsmithing and experimental techniques such as resin casting. In my free time, I am a beetle breeder and conservationist, preserving a private rainforest reserve, called Finca Oropendola, in Costa Rica.
